What the Council does

  • Approves the five-year perspective plan and the annual plan
  • Approves the annual budget and the annual report
  • Approves works outside the annual plan
  • Reviews the audit report and action taken on it
  • Makes sure at least 70% goes to high priority sectors
  • Meets at least twice a year

Structure

  1. Governing Council Chaired by the Deputy Commissioner. Approves plans, budgets and annual report.
  2. Managing Committee Sanctions works within the approved plan and monitors progress every quarter.
  3. Executing agencies Drinking Water and Sanitation, Health, Education, RWD and other departments carry out the works.
  4. Gram Sabhas of affected villages Identify beneficiaries, propose works and carry out social audit.
